Hardware development is an active area of research within the CFMM, focusing on the design and fabrication of radiofrequency (RF) coils, shim coils, and gradient coils. The subcomponents of an MRI scanner are critical to its operation;and their optimization can greatly improve its performance and the resultant image quality. Peripheral devices are also designed and tailored to specific applications on the MRI scanners to facilitate a broad range of studies.
