Today, the Ontario government announced $2.2 million in support of research at Western University.

The funds support important health research projects at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry through the Early Researcher Awards and the Ontario Research Fund (ORF) Infrastructure Fund.

“Early career researchers bring fresh approaches, enthusiasm, and new expertise,” said David Litchfield, PhD, Vice Dean of Research and Innovation at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry. “This kind of funding is really an investment in the future.”

The infrastructure funds help push research advances forward by providing resources to purchase critical new equipment.

“It is important that we invest in the next generation and provide a strong way forward for research. This investment translates into opportunities for local jobs, health innovations and the future of our communities,” said Dr. Sarah Prichard, Acting Vice-President (Research) at Western.
